
He was born on July 24, 1927 in Peritiba, SC. In 1945, when he was 18 years old, he served in the army, as volunteer, in the Battalion of Engineering of “Porto União, SC”, as a nurse. At this time he learned to speak Portuguese, because he had just spoken German. The following year he entered as a sergeant in the area of health in the army, with a test for the competition in Portuguese and he conquered the first place in Brazil, being transferred to Rio de Janeiro, where he studied in the University of Medicine.
As a doctor he was transferred to Cachoeira do Sul, RS in 1960, precisely to Cachoeira do Sul, where he put down roots, he practiced the Medicine and he bought the area that today is the Parque Witeck. Between 1989 and 1993 he was Mayor of Cachoeira do Sul and in 1993 he was elected councilor, and was invited to be Secretary of the Agriculture, position that exercised up to 1997.
He died on August 02, 2004. His last wish, was to be cremated and have his ashes lie in the Parque Witeck, at Peace Retreat.
